Pork Burgers

Ingredients
  

Base

  • 1/2 lbs ground pork
  • 4 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 qty large onion, sliced
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 qty brioche buns
  • 1/4 cup baby rocket leaves can use any type of lettuce available
  • 2 slices tomato
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup

Spice Mix

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, finely chopped onions and garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form two equal-sized patties.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes. Set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add your patties and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until fully cooked on medium to high heat. Flip halfway.
  • While the patties are cooking, toast the brioche buns until golden brown.
  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise and ketchup to make the sauce.
  • Assemble the burger by placing a rocket leaves or lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a slice of tomato.
  • Place the cooked pork patties on top of the tomato slices and top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese.
  • Add a spoonful of caramelized onions on top of the cheese and finish with a generous dollop of the mayo-ketchup sauce.
  • Top the burgers with the remaining halves of the brioche buns and serve hot.
