Cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions, omitting the spice packet.
In a small bowl, mix together the peanut butter, garlic, soy sauce, chili flakes or oil, and the ramen spice packet.
Add 1/4 cup of the hot water from the cooked noodles to the bowl and stir until everything is well-incorporated. Adjust the amount of water to achieve your desired consistency.
Drain the cooked noodles and add them to the bowl with the sauce. Stir until the noodles are evenly coated.
If using, top the noodles with a soft-boiled egg. Otherwise, garnish with chopped cilantro or scallions. Serve hot. Enjoy!
